Confused by a situation
Usually I let some ignorant things just slide by but this one I cannot be quiet about. I had a little "incident" over on last.fm that I shared with my last.fm positivity group over there and mostly everyone was supportive and a few people had some interesting words to exchange with me. In essence the black people got my drift and most of the white people did except for a few until I explained it and they were willing to understand it.
However, I was pretty surprised that someone said they did not mean to offend me but they did not offer me any positivity in the situation. Well, if you do not offer any positivity then just be quiet without shocking the pure daylights out of me like this. This individual is not American and may not understand exactly how I feel but then I believe they do especially since they love funk music (they are a die hard Prince fanatic like me). Tells you that you may listen to a lot of the same music but harbor beliefs that are 100% opposite than one another. (Prince is BLACK by the way remember that! So, I know he would get how I feel without me having to explain it. Don't forget Prince's song, 2045 Radical man which he explains racism from his perspective. He even discusses to him what the N word means. If you are really a Prince fan, you should know this!)
I wrote a blog about this situation over on last.fm to understand it but at this point I am truly getting fed up with trying to explain *racism* to others because it seems as though the world does not want to hear the truth.
Trying to be a nice citizen is wearing on me because in the end I know some will remain to keep a blind eye to all of this but will sure listen and enjoy the art of people of African descent but they still view people of African descent as inferior regardless of how many educated answers a person will give you.
You will never be good for them and I am not trying to get worked up over dealing with nonsense anymore. Thanks for the slap in the face my friend. You did offend me for how you said you did not offer positivity in the situation. Glad you left the group for I do not need your funky attitude their either. You sure were quick to want the picture I took for you of Annastesia St. in St. Augustine, Fl but again you fall in the category of turning a blind eye.
