This article is mind blowing. Who knows what really happened in this mother/daughter relationship. But to say that your relationship with your daughter was “inconsequential” is pretty harsh. It's interesting that Rebecca didn't have as much anger and resentment towards her father, who seemed to play an equal role in neglecting her.

Excellent observations. I felt the same after reading the article to. How could parents neglect their child like this? Makes you wonder what were their true intentions of having a child and not taking on the parental role of raising her and loving her. Her pain will never go away but she is blessed to have a child of her own to love and cherish.
