Some people who are quick to judge me..

Will never end in their bashing.

Some people always assume something about me and take things out of context.

I truly try to share but it proves to me that either:

1. some people are not reading my blogs or my twits to understand where I am coming from [entirely]

2. some people are quick to judge others because they are so angry of what they have experienced in life

3. some people just hate because they are confused

This is why I get frustrated when some people say the internet is not the right forum to address issues. I use the internet to add more depth or explain situations that I feel are necessary for me to explain. I speak only for me. I am an ambassador for how I live. Further, I want to grow too so correct me. I do not know everything. No one does but I am just sharing my opinions of my observations of what I have read, studied and lived through.

The internet is dangerous when an individual does not take the time to read, interact or to resolve the issue that they may have with another individual.

Recently I was informed that I had upset someone on twitter for some comments that I had made about Africans. However, the individual first of all failed to understand the context of where I was coming from. Further, this individual has no clue of what I have experienced living as an African American in the USA in different regions of the country (NorthEast, South, Midwest). I have experienced what I have said first hand. News reports have been done about it. Books have been written.

However, I know not all Africans are this way. Further, I have spent time in Africa and have actively corresponded with individuals from Africa on a frequent basis. I do not have to constantly prove myself to get into your brain how I feel. I am ME just me.

I am African American and my people are just as confused and have issues of self-hatred. It is ingrained by the media and the society we live in. If you think I need an education on this as an African American then tell me what am I missing? What is it that I do not understand if you choose to hide behind some veil and fester in more anger of what I have said.

It kind of angers me when some people sit behind a computer screen and truly hide who they are but get angry when individuals like myself make comments and then they go off on me because they say, I do not understand. Further, when I am told that I need to be educated that honestly makes me wonder why is it that when I truly try to understand you, give you a platform, and lend an ear to you, you turn away. So then I turn away to because I try to understand. However, I know you are going to continuously say hurtful things about me and not know where I am coming from.

All I can do is pray for you and hope for the best. And, especially if you have to make excuses about yourself and to even point out that you are married to a white man then I just wonder why you even said that to me?

My blog is about acknowledging myself, claiming my identity and sharing my rich cultural ancestry. I research everything that I say because there are individuals who will QUICKLY jump down my throat but when I have the evidence they are quiet. So, please please if you have an issue with me, then tell me instead of being so mad that you might explode.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW..

As much madness as I talk about Prince, Jesus, I swear AlexCuba has IT! Seriously! I saw him perform live tonight at Joe's Pub here in New York City and my mouth kept on dropping wide open in LOVE with his voice and his persona on stage. AlexCuba is very well grounded, hilarious, and he was cracking jokes in both English & Spanish. He truly is a person who LOVES himself for he exudes a humbleness and sincerity that comes across in his music too.

You know what your girl did? Yep - I cracked a joke on him. I could not help it. I told him, "My, you are tiny!" Then, I had the NERVE to tell him that he needs to eat more potatoes. He laughed at me as I did at myself because that is usually something I do with people I have known for years but, I could not help it. He was too adorable for me not to crack a joke on him! No, I do not work for him but merely a music fanatic who gets captivated by certain artists that propel me into another dimension. Alex DEFINITELY has that Prince appeal of musical talent and appeal for me. So, Prince, please DON'T be jealous but I LOVE ME SOME AlexCuba's music.

I love AlexCuba's music so much that I bought his CD and a t-shirt. HE even AUTOGRAPHED my CD, and he signed my t-shirt. However, I am SO ANAL that I am going to get my t-shirt framed and put it on my wall in my humble abode.

Remember that independent music artists cannot survive without us - their loyal fans. So, please consider blogging and saying something nice about those independent artists you adore. You know I DO!!

Man I haven't brought a ThriftStoreGems to the masses in a minute but this one is kind of special for me. While I was converting these it brought me back to the time when I worked at a store called The Nature Company back in the late 80s. What was so cool about this store was that this was a store that was like a dream come true for a grown up. The artists I will be showcasing will be acoustic guitarist Govi, new age/electronic group Tangerine Dream, and folk/pop artist James Taylor.These 3 cassettes LPs I converted makes me think of a time when began the road of truly seeing myself as my Creator sees me. I met and worked with cool people, worked in a place where being surrounded by nice music, astronomy, nature, learning about rocks and minerals...it was like heaven.
