JERSEY CITY, N.J. (WPIX) - The father of a boy who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him 15 years ago was found dead of an apparent suicide, Jersey City Police confirmed to PIX News. According to authorities, the body of Evan Chandler was discovered in his Jersey City residence at about 5:35 p.m. on Nov. 5 after he went missing. Chandler, who was being treated for an unknown illness, missed an appointment with his doctor which prompted concern, Jersey City spokesperson Stan Eason said. After several failed attempts to get in touch with his patient, the doctor, who was not immediately identified, called the building's concierge to check on Chandler. The concierge later discovered the victim's lifeless body inside the apartment at the Liberty Towers located on Hudson Street, Eason said. Police say Chandler suffered a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head. Authorities are treating the case as a suicide. It was back in 1994, when Chander's then-12-year-old son Jordy Chandler accused Jackson of molesting him on several occasions between 1991 and 1994. The father and son went after the King of Pop in court and later settled the case for a reported $20 million. In 2006, Jordan Chandler filed a request for a restraining order against his father after he allegedly struck Jordan over the head from behind with a twelve and a half pound weight. In the wake of Jackson's untimely death in June 2009, an internet rumor surfaced that claimed Jordan Chandler confessed to lying to police about being molested by Jackson. Jordan was coached by his father to tell the outlandish story in a scheme to get millions, the report claimed. An investigation later determined no such confession took place.

Why did I get sick from....

a regular FLU shot?

I had no idea of the side effects of the flu shot. The last time I had a flu shot which was in 1999, I got the flu the same month I had the shot. Not only did I get the flu once but TWICE. That's why I never got a flu shot again.

The only reason why I got a flu shot now is that with all the hoopla over the swine flu I felt I needed to get at least the regular flu shot. I'm still not to sure if I will get the swine flu shot because my reaction was not good to the regular flu shot. Getting the shot was fine. It didn't hurt, felt fine when I went home. Had dinner but about 2 hours later I was sick like a dog. Vomiting, chills, achy and still vomiting. I was OUT of it all day Saturday. Sunday I felt much better.

Was that a reaction to the flu shot or did I get sick from something else? I honestly don't know.

Be careful!

By the way, I'm rarely sick (I rarely get colds, etc.) so this is why I'm very concerned if I get the swine flu shot.

Sidibe is a good sport about it, rolling her eyes only when the song changes on the sound system. “Is this Taylor Swift?” she groans. One woman in the retinue, meeting her for the first time, gushes, “You look totally opposite to your character.” “Thanks,” says Sidibe dutifully. “I’m actually … not her.” The confusion is understandable if you’ve seen the film in which Sidibe stars. As Claireece “Precious” Jones, the obese, abused, 16-year-old hero of Precious (based on the sexually graphic 1996 novel Push, by Sapphire), the 26-year-old actress gives one of the most moving and primal performances in recent memory. The film (opening November 6 after playing the New York Film Festival) has been a festival standout since Sundance, where it won two major awards, followed by the top prize at the recent Toronto Film Festival.

Mitrice Richardson, 24, of Los Angeles left the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station in the early morning hours of Sept. 17. She had been arrested for not paying a restaurant tab and possessing a small amount of pot, and has been missing since she left the station.

Too often, as a society, we insult our young people, labeling them as a lost generation. Here's a young man who has taken leadership in to his 11-year-old hands.Jonathan E. McCoy gave a rousing speech earlier this year to his church in Baltimore about why our community needs to drop the 'N' word. His speech, "A New Petition," called for the discontinuation of that six-letter word, and the slang usage of the word. "I'm sending a message to everyone who knowingly or ignorantly uses this word to describe our people, whether you're a gangster rapper who uses it to communicate with your boys, or someone who looks down on us who haven't got a college education," said the pint-sized orator. "Whatever the case, it's time to discontinue the use of this word. It is implausible that 40 years after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we still use this word that holds no worth in our lives nor our future." At an early age, he learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and was immediately drawn to Dr. King's commitment to justice for all. Jonathan's early desire to effect change, inspired him to use petitioning as a way to call out injustice.His first act of petitioning apparently involved hand washing. While in the second grade, says his Facebook profile, Jonathan asked his fellow classmates to sign a petition that would allow students the choice to opt out of the school's enforced hand sanitizer policy and instead wash their hands with soap and water. When his teacher found out about the petition, she settled the request in the children's favor. Since presenting a "New Petition" to the 1,500 plus congregants at Empowerment Temple in Baltimore, Jonathan has appeared on Black America Web with Tom Joyner, and spoken at numerous events around the country.
