Jesse McCrary, Jr. was a personal friend. I am sad to hear of his passing but his spirit is always felt. He used to call my Mom a lot to just joke around or to talk to a friend. They had been friends since 1965 when they were both taking the Florida Bar Examination, and they have been friends ever sense.
One day, Jesse sent my Mom lunch from Joe's Stone Crab. She was shocked that he would Fed Ex her lunch. Now, my mother, my father and me are hooked on Joe's Stone Crab claws ever sense. My parents even Fed-Exed me lunch for my birthday this year from Joe's Stone Crab. So whenever I eat Joe's Stone Crab, I think of Jesse.
He was a civil rights pioneer, a husband, brother, son, father to two beautiful daughters and a great friend. His legacy will never be forgotten. Thank you, Jesse, for your life for you always made me smile whenever I knew you were around. Now, I feel your spirit is watching over all of us.
May God bless his family, extended family and friends who are grieving during this time.

Just wanted to share a little picture of me when I was 3. I was REALLY shy. I am still kinda shy,
but it depends on the situation nowadays. I even had the chance to make myself known to
Amel Larrieux when I saw her in concert last week, but I actually danced with her at one of her
concerts at the Blue Note in New York City 2 years ago. So, I have had my moment and I thank Amel for that.
She has no idea how happy that made me. =)
All of us have a "shy" moment. Many times I honestly do not know what to say in some
situations and instead of making a fool out of myself I am just quiet. Do you experience this?
My Momma is like that. My father is just an outgoing person. However, I do talk to almost everyone
even the homeless people. Yeah, I talk to the homeless when they try to encourage me to give
them money. They are human. I do end up giving them a dollar. I am a sucker especially if you
are good at heart.
If I had lots of money, I would build a safe shelter for the homeless where they would have a place to call
home and would learn skills that would help them integrate back into the society.
Enough about me. I realized I hardly blogged today. That is not like me!!! =)
