Yikes..
The videos on YouTube are no longer available b/c "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Viacom International Inc.

Well, you know how that goes...
Anyway, here's the BET direct (legal) link to Maxwell, Jill & Anthony's performances for Al Green.

Thank you to The Latest Maxwell news for I was just asked to become a correspondent for them.
Wow!
First mog.com and now this, what next?! Thank you so much!
I am touched!
I adore Chantay who founded The Latest Maxwell news online in 2004 and she has made me smile, crack up and has been a positive light in sharing Maxwell's good graces. I encouraged her to join www.last.fm so that she could spread her good cheer there which she did! The Latest Maxwell news on last.fm
If you are a fan and are sincere about your efforts in spreading the word about an artist consider joining up with others online who are spreading the word. Become a community. You have no idea of the resources that the individuals may bring and the talent. Further state whether you are an official or unofficial fansite. For The Latest Maxwell News, it is an unofficial fan club but Maxwell has publicly declared his support for her club.
In appreciating Maxwell's music and his fans that is why I have always spread The Latest Maxwell news because the fan club is sincere in bringing you the truth. Further, my play bro gave me a shout out too so he knows we adore him and want to spread the truth. Remember people -- MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC. That is what it is all about!
Since I have been actively blogging on last.fm (as 2Serenity) since February 2007 I definitely will link ALL my Maxwell blogs for The Latest Maxwell news. Further, any other blogs that I have written about Maxwell (and Stuart "Cottonbelly" Matthewman) online that I have written I will share with them. It is all in spreading the word and appreciating fantastic music.
Woowza...
Man, I was pretty shocked to see that my post today on MOG about maxwell was one of the daily picks.
My post: Got Distracted by Maxwell but it was worth it
Why?
I always felt in the dark and out of the loop on MOG.com as one of the few female women of color on there. I never am hip enough (in my humble opinion) to have legions of people on MOG who read me because I know my music picks and what I discuss over there is not normal. I do not expect the comments at all because I know we are all in our own world when we write over there.
I have been blogging on Mog.com since June of 2007 under the name of 2Serenity and then I deleted myself and remereged as SerenityLife in February 2008.
Why?
I had a racial incident that pissed me OFF! I mean to the point I wanted to throw a towel in and saw SCREW everything. But, a little birdie kicked reality in my butt and said that your voice is needed. We all have something to say even when we do not realize it.
Recently I read my deceased friend's MOG post, Rocking Against Racism about claiming your voice especially as a minority and it truly hit home for me. @Crashpryor was an integral part of MOG.com and I am still devastated over his untimely death but I know his spirit is within all of us at MOG and that is why I stay. (Chris passed in October 2007. I believe he had a heart attack and he was only 30 something)
My point in sharing all of this is that today I realized that my post on maxwell was considered a daily pick? Me? I wrote a post that the guys at Mog.com appreciated? I have never been so humbled because that community truly is THE one that has shaped the advocate in me and I value all the discussions I have had over there even the ones that have made me so mad I wanted to throw my computer in the toilet.
Thank you Mog.com for I do adore you. Tough love truly works out when you least expect it.
Just saying..
High five to my former employer and where I spent half my teenage years - BET - for allowing my adoptive brother, Maxwell, to perform with the Al Green Tribute. at the 2008 BET Awards aired on June 24, 2008.
Now that Maxwell fans are awakened that the undercover baby maker is ready for his album to be released, could Columbia Records please be a DEAR and release Maxwell's album, Black Summer's Night sooooooooooon! (pretty please!)
We are so grateful that our beloved Maxwell is a signed artist to such a wonderful label but we (Maxwell's loyal fans) would LIKE TO B-U-Y that album, Black Summer's Night, before we all turn 90 years!
Thank you so kindly for reminding the world that Maxwell has it and WILL always have it..
So, Columbia Records, if you are reading, consider releasing that album soon. Pretty please!!
Thank you so kindly!
Always,
SerenityLife aka Maxwell's adopted little sis (Jrose)
Thank you @tiffanybbrown for the challenge to share the 7 songs that are in heavy rotation for me:
Directions:
“List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.“
These are my 7 songs:
6. Stuart "Cottonbelly" Matthewman - Sade's By Your Side
7. Maxwell - Let's Not Play the Game
Have you ever listened to an artist who is not known by the mainstream but you know they have the *it* factor?
When The Latest Maxwell news shared this following video clip with me, I screamed because the young lady was flowing with her verses. It is as though she was born to write, sing and be in the *biz* as they say.
Her use of Maxwell's Submerge sample has me begging for more because she used it in such a creative way that I had to give her much play. She is a Maxwell fan too so I know she used his sample in respect in sharing and appreciating his work too.
Last night, I had to give The Real Renaissance some love on her myspace page but I kind of broke it to her and said that her 7000 plus fans on her myspace page are WACK because they are not viewing her video as she requested. She would like to get more views of her video. Her goal is to get 10,000 to view it and she has already cracked the 1000 views. I told her I watched it yesterday 5 times yesterday so that uped the factor a little bit.
Do you mind being a dear and giving The Real Renaissance a view? Thank you!
She has a creative flow and sincerity that I appreciate. I know she is prepared to do what is necessary to be on top of her game with her music, writing and singing. And, from talking from her - she definitely as a comedian. She cracks me up and she better stop it!
Also, check out her video here on blip.tv for she said that was the best view of it! Blip.tv present's Renaissance Thug Passion
I am buying Real Renaissance's CD, Life Soundtrack, from CD Baby for that is how impressed I am with her work!
By the way, WHAT THE HELL is going on with this Maxwell CD? I want my Black Summer's Night trilogy. I am really wondering what is going on now. It is his label I have issue with and not Maxwell. Come on, Columbia Records?! What GIVES?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Maxwell!!
Special shout out to you as you celebrate your birthday from all your fans worldwide. You know your fans have lots of love and respect for your contribution to music history.
Though we know how humble you are and how you do not expect the attention that you receive from your fans, we want you to know how much we appreciate your voice, your music and your heart.
This past year has been wonderful for me personally getting to know a lot of your fans through myspace and last.fm. Their appreciation for your music is definitely sincere and eager for your next treat to the world.
Take your time for we can wait!
This morning while in Florida I took this picture of the sun behind the clouds. So, this picture is dedicated to you and to all your fans worldwide.
Enjoy big brother, Maxwell!
Always,
Your lil sis,
Jrose

All fans of Maxwell, don't forget to add The Latest Maxwell News on myspace or check out The Latest Maxwell News on last.fm
[[Disclaimer: This is a letter to Maxwell the singer but mostly this is all in my head. I do this to amuse myself and to keep Maxwell's good natured heart on my blog. I miss seeing his mood indicator light up on myspace and his blogs. Tells you how some of us have become emotionally attached to the internet. Pretty wild? A new day for everything.]]
maxwell..
I am being extremely patient for I can still wait for you album, Black Summer's Night.
Just checking to see if you are okay? You good? See any movies recently? You know I still have not seen the HBO Series, The Wire. I promise to watch all of the seasons and report back so I know why you were so emotional during the finale! You had me laughing man! If it was that good then I better check it out.
Since you are not on myspace like you used to be I wanted to know if everything is fine?
Your adoptive parents said, hello.
Now, we have more additions to the family. 2 more adoptive brothers who accomplished in their own right.
One is singer, Kaysha, who likes to get manicures and pedicures often but he has to because he is a performer like you. (^_^). [I tease him because of this but he says it ALL the time! And, he likes to take baths and eat mangoes! He said this one today on http://twitter.com/kaysha. I wanted to come through the computer and ask - are you playing with me SHORTY?]
Your other brother is new. In fact, we may be identical twins in the sense of birthdays but with a 2 year gap. I know STRANGE. Momma forgot to deliver me until 2 years after the first child was born. No, I am playing!! [You know I have a WACK sense of humor! MY BAD]
What I am trying to say is that our other brother is exactly 2 years older than me and we have the same birthday. Isn't that rad? And, his father and my father have known each other FOREVER. Really really rad. I am saying since they were children. AND, I had not seen him since I was 4 or 5? I remember meeting him when I was a kid because we played in his loft with a big beach ball here in New York City. My parents brought me to NY as a tiny tot to this BIG city and fortunately my *adoptive* brother and his brother played with me. We had not seen each other in almost 30 years. I know I am aging myself but oh well. I pray he can make me an Auntie one day. I call him Big Bro O. His name is Orion. His parents definitely wanted him to reach for the stars!!
I'll stop being a goof ball. Just making small talk because honestly I have nothing really important to say than I miss you lots! [hugz]
Your little sis,
JRose
