Alex Cuba looks like a latter day Sly Stone, with a towering fro, skin-tight bell-bottoms and bushy sideburns that creep towards the sides of his mouth. But rather than just copping a fabulously retro fashion sense, Cuba also borrows from Stone’s genre-bending musical approach. A multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter who grew up in the Cuban countryside, he produces sophisticated Latin pop in the artic fringes of a Canadian logging and mining town. Isn't he adorable?! I wanna play with his Afro. You are too much for me, Alex. Not only are you cute but you have the innocence of a young man in your photo here. I just want to to tickle you to death, and pinch your cheeks! [okay, I am being silly but it is true!]

Beyond my crush on AlexCuba, I adore his music.

My my, AlexCuba, you are my inspiration for learning Spanish so that I will not make a fool of myself trying to sing in Spanish not knowing what I am saying!

One day while playing around on myspace, I saw this Cuban man with a HUGE afro who was listed as a musician. I said, let me check this man out. Smitten from the first Spanish lyric that softly came out of his lips, AlexCuba's music made my heart rumble!

Don't ask me exactly what AlexCuba is saying for I understand enough to know his album, Agua Del Pozo is beautiful in my life right now as I go through some life transitions. His Spanish accent is like a whisper for you can clearly hear him enunciating every syllable.

Where were you, AlexCuba when I was studying Spanish? If I had your music and your pictures, I would be fluent in Spanish by now!

This past month I have befriended musician Eddie Benitez to the point now that I see him like a spiritual godfather.

Warm hearted and so much knowledge of life. In getting to know Eddie, I have embraced him and his entire music posse.

Tonight, he will be on Blogtalkradio at 10pm. Sorry for the late notice but you should be able to log in later and

To my surprise, Eddie's publicist, who I adopted as my big sis Jade,sent me the cutest holiday card. She Elfed me,
