If you have not seen spoken word artist Taalam Acey, I highly recommend that you check his calendar and make it a MUST to see him perform.
Last week, I had the pleasure of seeing him in New York City with a group of amazing poets he hand picked to be a part of a magical night at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City.
Check out more about Taalam Acey here on his official website here:

Short Documentary on AlexCuba:
This verdict in this particular case (Sean Bell) is absolutely uncalled for because a HUMAN BEING was shot 40 times. How can anyone shoot anyone 40 times and get away with it?
Well welcome to my world in New York City.
Verdicts like this happened twice.
Today in the story of Sean Bell and a few years ago in the story of Amadou Diallo.
One black American man (Sean Bell) and one African man (Amadou Diallo). Both dead by the trigger being pulled 40 times. This is what I call inhumane. They are not animals or savages but human beings.
The immigrant story and the black American story in America are complex in the the **melting pot** of New York City. I actually refer to New York City as the **explosive pot** because of how insensitive people react when some people do not take the TIME and ENERGY to deal civilly with others. But, I guess some people are more quick to react than to actually try to know what the problem maybe.
Also know that Sean Bell was killed by two BLACK men and a white man so my issue is with the judicial system and not just because of the not guilty verdict. See the picture of the killers of Sean Bell
.
Associated Press Shows one of the officers. He looks brown to me:
