[this blog is unedited so please mind typos/etc. I give it to you
as it comes into my brain. Too much stress to be perfect.
I tend to share more links but I do write blog posts occasionally]

Please be respectful when you post comments on my blog especially those that are race and gender sensitive.

A fun loving 34 year old young lady enjoying life to its fullest.
Love to laugh, read, listen to music, and a serious
appreciator of the arts (in all aspects).

Basics: born and raised in Washington, DC & currently
reside in New York City

Family: Only child of my loving parents who are hard working
individuals. My Mom is the second black woman to pass the
Florida bar in 1965, and she went on to establish her own
law firm for no law firm would hire a black woman back then. Although she was #3 in her law school class! So,
this was the beginning of how I was raised. She is now retired.

My father started his own business in the 1970s and it still exists today. His company is the one I work with as his right hand.

Out of respect for them, I rather not give specific names of who they are only because they are pretty private with how they conduct their lives. But, they do not mind me sharing pictures.

They are not famous but hard working individuals who I respect and
admire tremendously.

Little more on me (I cannot believe Oprah.com put me on her website! And I have never met her but thanks to her staff for reading my story of meeting Sidney Poitier on her website!)

Politics: Registered Democrat since I was 18. Attended the Democratic National Convention in 1988 with my Mom. It was a surreal experience. Met all the candidates and even Coretta Scott King. My mother was the first African American woman to raise $100G for the Democratic Party

Profession - Corporate Executive with a diversified financial management company. [my first love though has always been historical documentary filmmaking which I work in some aspects on various projects, but I have to pay BILLS!]

Education - Spelman College (Class of 1996) [BA - English & Philosophy, Departmental Honors in English, Magna Cum Laude Graduate, Sigma Tau Delta Member] and Univ. of Iowa College of Law (Class of 2000)
